A team of managers from a local oak-framing company have completed a leadership and management programme with the University of Worcester’s Business School.
The diploma was an adaptation of the University’s established Leading to Excellence management development programme, and was delivered at Oakwrights’ Herefordshire show house and head office in Swainshill.
Bill Keir, the Commercial Director for Oakwrights, said: “The University of Worcester Business School’s approach allowed us to take time to fully understand the business need and together we developed a solution to achieve our leadership and development objectives. As an employer, Oakwrights is committed to the development of our people and this is a good example of our approach.”
Tim Maxfield, Director of Business Development in the University of Worcester’s Business School, added: “We are delighted to have worked with Oakwrights. This type of programme emphasises the role the Business School can play in the development of the local and regional economy.
“Up-skilling in the area of leadership and management is a high priority in the West Midlands and this programme presents a model of partnership that does a great deal to address this need.”
