Worcester stories

We're proud to present a selection of inspiring stories from our students, graduates and staff.

Sophie Carrigill

Sophie is a Psychology graduate and co-captain of the GB women's wheelchair basketball team.

In 2016 Sophie went to the Rio Paralympics! She was part of a GB team that produced its best ever performance at the Paralymics, making it all the way to the semi-finals.

Marc Scriven

Marc is now Head of Strength and Conditioning here at the University, working closely with the Worcester Wolves Basketball team. But it was quite a journey to get to here.

Rowena Simmons

When most of her fellow A-level students were finding it hard enough to combine their studies with a social life, Rowena managed to establish a highly successful online business, selling her self-designed jewellery around the world.

Rowena tells her story and reflects on what a degree has meant for her career.

Gemma Thomas

University was something that for a long time Gemma thought wasn't for her, but which, once she took the plunge, rapidly took her life in a different direction.
