Childcare

We have an on-campus nursery, accredited by Ofsted

The University’s in-house nursery ‘Unitots’, is situated on the University of Worcester’s St John's Campus and takes children from 3 months up to school age. The Nursery is self-contained and has large outside facilities, it is also able to access facilities on the campus such as the gym, sports centre, library and nature walks.

A safe learning environment

The nursery provides high quality care and education in a safe, stimulating, secure environment. Children are supported by a highly motivated and experienced staff team. Staff recognise and value each child as a unique individual, developing in individual ways and at varying rates.

Nursery opening hours

The Nursery is open throughout the year from Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, excepting Bank Holidays, University holidays, the last full week of August and Staff training days. Staff and community users book from the available session times for the year. Students book from the available session times for a semester.

Fees (for 2016/17)

  • Child under 3 years £4.62 per hour
  • Child over 3 years £4.37 per hour
  • Lunch (optional) - £2.05

The reduction in the hourly fee for children over 3 years comes into effect the month after the child turns 3.

Fees are reviewed annually.

The nursery offers free early education places for 3 and 4 year olds. Children receive nursery funding the term after their third birthday, up to 15 hours per week, for 38 weeks of the year, term time only.

Applying for a place

Places are very popular. If you are interested in a place, it is advisable to put your child’s name down early as we operate a waiting list system. The initial registration leaflet with further information can be accessed from our web site. Parents/carers are welcome to visit and take a tour around our childcare facilities. If you have any questions, please contact the nursery on 01905 855277 or email: unitots@worc.ac.uk

Unitots environmental statement

Unitots Nursery supports environmental sustainability and is part of the Green Impact Scheme. This is the fourth year the nursery has had a Green Impact Team. We have been successful in achieving bronze, silver and gold awards and a special innovation award. Read our SMART Action plan to find out about some of the ways we are continually trying to improve our environmental sustainability. When visiting Unitots please take the time to read the leaflets and posters on our parents notice board and put these ideas into practice wherever possible. For more information please visit the University's Green Impact page.
